Vermillion

As I previously blogged, I really like the way in which shots are sped up in Requiem For A Dream. Likewise, the video for Slipknot's Vermillion uses the exact same technique. Hayley told me about the video & I immediately liked the way the girl is looking obviously distressed, running through the streets of LA in a pretty dress. I think this video, directed by Tony Petrossian is so alike our own concept idea.. and is extremely expressive which is our 'mood'.

Everything around her is sped up but she is moving at a normal pace. This is achieved by making the model move extremely slowly down a busy street, filming with a slow shutter speed & when the footage is sped up she appears to be moving at a normal pace whilst everything around her is rushed & a fast paced blur.

We want to speak to Geraldine more about this technique so she can advise us on this specific technique and how it can be achieved.
