Morning
In the morning we had a lecture with Geraldine. She showed us one of her own short art films and also some examples of The Cut from previous years. I found this lecture really helpful and it made me understand the task at hand much more fully. She advised us that we film EVERYTHING and to re-shoot over and over again to get the best possible shots. I learnt alot about cut points, transitions and angles and just how important they are. Geraldine also told us to consider our models and locations- that they may look great in person but not so much on camera.

Afternoon
In the afternoon we received a lecture from Denis about styling within film. It made me realise how influential fashion within film is on its audience & how important the styling is. Examples of this would be Breakfast at Tiffanys and Sex and the City- styled by Patricia Field. Clothing plays a huge part in the film industry and is almost a character in itself. We also learnt about costume codes and a new word, verismilitude- the way a film is made believable and the role clothing plays in this.
