After a daunting tutorial with Denis & Geraldine on Thursday, myself & Hayley decided to borrow a camera from the university & attempt some of the filming techniques we want to include in our own promotional film. Hayley filmed me spinning on the spot from different angles which we want to cross fade and overlap the shots to give an almost disorientating effect- one which we saw in Requiem For A Dream. We also tried the effect from the Slipknot video for 'Vermillion' where the model moves extremely slowly & then the footage is sped up so her surroundings are whizzing past whilst she moves at a normal pace.
We wanted to include a shot where we are filming our model looking into the mirror (POV shot) & then panning 180 degrees to be behind her seeing her reflection in the mirror. We couldn't quite work out how to do this effect because we would always be in the reflection so hopefully Geraldine will be able to advise us in achieving this.
We're confused as how to upload footage to our laptops but fingers crossed it will be uploaded by tomorrow & posted.
This week we plan on cementing our narrative and concept & creating a storyboard in time for our next tutorial.
