Avsh Alom Gur

Whilst researching my designer Avsh Alom Gur I discovered that he grew up in Israel & studied Textile Technology and Fashion. His first experience within the fashion industry was when he took a work placement in Marks & Spencer in London. He describes it as his first experience and 'was key to my understanding of the UK high street and London Fashion Week; it fuelled my knowledge and passion for the UK fashion industry.' He went on study at Central Saint Martins College.

He was a junior designer at Donna Karan and has also worked behind the likes of Nicole Fahri, ChloƩ and Robert Cavalli. Whilst launching his own brand Avsh Alom Gur he took on the position of creative director at Ossie Clark. He states that his own line is effortless but desirable that women will covet.

From doing research, I particularly like the A/W09 collection. I particularly like the way that he uses both pink ruffles with black sheer chiffon- a contrast between girly and grunge (such as the pink gowns paired with black patent fingerless gloves.) I think that the giant bows attached to the models heads are fantastic also.

I really like the black lipstick he used in his SS09 collection
